SSA DATA/ACCOUNT CLERK

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum:

Must have a high school diploma or GED. Must be able to perform data entry with skilled precision. Must have telephone, clerical and bookkeeping skills. Ability to operate calculator, computer, copiers and other office equipment.

Ability to follow written and oral instructions with precision. Able to sort and file information correctly and efficiently. Must be able to add, subtract, multiply, divide and calculate fractions, decimals and percentages. Must be able to recognize errors and perform work accurately. Must be capable of understanding and identifying billable services within Individual Service Plans. Has history of interacting with coworkers and customers in a consistently positive and professional manner.

Must have a comprehensive knowledge of Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel. Must be able to develop advanced Excel worksheets consisting of formulas and pivot tables.

Must have a valid Ohio driver license and an insured, personal vehicle for use while on agency business. Must have a good driving record. Must have a history of satisfactory job performance. Must have a record of reliable work attendance.

Must be able to meet all requirements and obtain all certificates required to perform the job or any aspect of the job, and to access funding for performance of any aspect of the job.

Preferred:

Associates degree in business or accounting, and/or extensive related work experience.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Perform accounting and data processing tasks. Enter data into database, onto spreadsheets and in the State website.

Receive and prepare invoices in accordance with established procedures. Review invoice content to determine whether or not it falls within the parameters of Individual Service Plans and contractual requirements; address/resolve discrepancies. Process accounts payables. Categorically record payments, making notes of irregularities. Maintain spreadsheets detailing costs per client or contract.

Perform tasks associated with processing Payment Authorization for Waiver Services (PAWS). Resolve discrepancies with SSA Management. Maintain annual and fiscal years’ PAWS data for all waiver enrollees.

Prepare purchase requisitions based on contracts, and track receipts against purchase orders with precision.

Assist in preparing reports. Maintain office files for various documents. Retrieve related documentation as needed for audits and/or queries.

Accurately perform numerical calculations related to work tasks.

Assist as needed to provide coverage at the SSA Building front desk, including answering incoming calls and directing visitors to the building. Assist as needed with other clerical functions of the SSA Department.

HOURS:

Normally, 8:00 am-4:00 pm, Monday through Friday. Flexible as needed.

SALARY:

Level 3

PROBATION:

140 calendar days (initial); 90 days (non-initial)
