SPEECH-LANGUAGE PATHOLOGIST 9M

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum:

Masters degree in Speech Pathology. Must possess or be able to obtain State of Ohio licensure in Speech Pathology.

Must be able to obtain appropriate Ohio Department of Education (ODE) license.

Must have a valid Ohio driver’s license and an insured personal vehicle for use while on agency business. Must have a good driving record. Must have a history of satisfactory job performance. Must have a record of reliable work attendance.

Must be able to meet all requirements and obtain all certificates required to perform the job or any aspect of the job and to access funding for performance of any aspect of the job.

Preferred:

Experience working with people with developmental disabilities.

American Speech Language Hearing Association (ASHA) Certificate of Clinical Competence.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Perform initial and ongoing assessments to provide therapy to Individuals requiring speech and language services. Administer speech and hearing screenings and evaluate language status of assigned individuals. Provide speech/language and communication services on site and in the community.

Design, coordinate and implement speech and language goals/objectives for individual’s plan through observation, consultation, reviewing of documentation, interacting with staff. Develop therapy plans and materials to implement goals.

Provide consultation to parents and interdisciplinary team members. Design and implement inservice training in communications for staff and parents to strengthen total communication approach and reinforce the functional use of augmentative and alternate communication systems.

Refer for medical/professional attention for habilitation of communication deficits.

Maintain required records; daily progress notes, language objectives, quarterly and annual reports.

HOURS:

8:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m., Monday-Friday, except on weekly meeting night plus one additional meeting a month as assigned. 9-month position. Flexible as needed.

SALARY:

Instructor Level

PROBATION:

280 calendar days (initial); 90 calendar days (non-initial)
