QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum:

High school diploma or equivalent. Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel (spreadsheets). Computer literate. Possess Secretarial skills including ability to spell, correct grammar, and accurately enter data on forms and in the computer. Able to file and perform basic math functions quickly and accurately. Knowledge of and ability to work with persons with developmental disabilities and perform positioning, toileting, feeding, bathing and assistance with other needs. Knowledge of safety and sanitation procedures. Able to transfer individuals in a safe manner according to individual needs.

Must have a valid Ohio driver’s license and an insured personal vehicle for use while on agency business. Must possess and maintain a good driving record. Must have a history of satisfactory job performance. Must have a record of reliable work attendance. Able to obtain and maintain current First Aid and CPR certification.

Must be able to meet all requirements and obtain all certificates required to perform the job or any aspect of the job, and to access funding for performance of any aspect of the job.  

Preferred:

Experience working with people with developmental disabilities.  Background in providing personal care to persons who are elderly or have disabilities.  Previous experience as a secretary in a business or service environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Maintain records, including progress notes, frequency charts, annual paperwork, and incident reports.  Transport residents to activities and medical appointments.  Assist with managing resident funds.

Proofread copy and correct spelling, grammar, and punctuation. Compile, type, edit, copy and distribute materials as instructed. Take notes of staff meetings and prepare final minutes. Receive and transmit telephone calls, messages and mail. Maintain supplies for continuity of facility operation. Transport materials to all agency locations as required. Use spreadsheet software to track kitchen inventory and for other purposes, as needed.

Provide direct care of residents, including lifting, transferring, positioning, feeding, bathing, grooming, and toileting. Implement Ohio Individual Service Plans.

Provide housekeeping of facility including kitchen and dining room cleanup, cleaning resident rooms, organizing resident closets and dressers, doing laundry and doing activity cleanup.  Maintain clean and sanitary work environment. 

Participate in staffing and inservices. Meet all requirements for certification, licensing, etc. as required by local, state or federal regulations.

Perform all other job-related functions as assigned by supervisor.

Must comply with the CMS COVID-19 Health Care Staff Vaccination requirement.

HOURS:

7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. Flexible as required. Will be subject to mandatory overtime, on a rotating basis, as applicable. Must be available to work holidays and program closing days, as needed.

SALARY:

Level 2

PROBATION:

280 calendar days (initial); 90 calendar days (non-initial)
