High school diploma or GED, plus formal courses in related maintenance areas or the equivalent in experience.
Experience in electrical circuitry. Proven background and efficiency in upkeep of buildings and grounds. Willing to learn and capable of performing plumbing/fixture repair, floor care, general facility cleaning, appliance repair, fabricating work (wood and metal), painting, glazing, cement masonry, brazing and soldering. Able to climb ladders and lift cartons up to 65 pounds above head to high shelves. Willing to do various types of custodial duties. Able to operate various types of maintenance equipment, i.e., floor polisher/burnisher, tractor, snow thrower, etc. Able to drive to other facilities, hardware store, etc.
Must have a valid Ohio driver’s license and an insured personal vehicle for use while on agency business. Must have a good driving record. Must have a record of reliable work attendance. Must have a history of satisfactory job performance.
Must be able to meet all requirements and obtain all certificates required to perform the job or any aspect of the job, and to access funding for performance of any aspect of the job.
Experience in independent responsibility for facility maintenance.
Perform custodial duties, technical maintenance and repairs to buildings, equipment, machinery, plumbing, electrical circuits, appliances, and heating, ventilating and air conditioning systems.
Perform grounds maintenance.
Open and secure buildings.
Maintain an inventory of supplies and equipment.
Normally, 8-hour day, Monday-Friday; 5:00 a.m. on snow days to shovel walks, clear snow paths, salt driveways. Flexible according to needs with varied times and assignments to facilities. Upon assignment, may include evenings and/or weekends.
