Speech-Language Pathologist PT, 8 hrs

SPEECH/LANGUAGE PATHOLOGIST, PT

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum:

State of Ohio license in Speech/Language Pathology. Masters degree in Speech Pathology. Ability to obtain appropriate Ohio Department of Education license in Speech/Language Pathology.

Must have a valid Ohio driver’s license and an insured personal vehicle for use while on agency business. Must possess and maintain a good driving record. Must have a record of reliable work attendance. Must have a history of satisfactory job performance.

Preferred:

Experience working with people with developmental disabilities. Training and experience in performing swallowing evaluations. American Speech Language Hearing Association (ASHA) Certificate of Clinical Competence.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Provide individual and group speech and language therapy and communication skills training for adults and/or children with developmental disabilities. Perform evaluations to identify communication and speech-related needs. Provide services in accordance with ISP/PCP or IEP. Assess for augmentative communication equipment needs. Assist in obtaining funding for purchase of augmentative communication equipment.

Design, coordinate and implement speech and language goals/objectives for individual’s plan through observation, consultation, reviewing of documentation, interacting with staff. Develop therapy plans and materials to implement goals.

Train staff on speech-related services and use of adapted communication equipment.

Develop visual communication materials for individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorders and developmental disabilities. Develop goals and objectives for individual planning and documentation of services.

Provide consultation and training for interdisciplinary team, parents, and staff to strengthen total communication approaches and utilization of augmentative and alternative communication systems.

Perform swallowing evaluations. Provide individual-specific training to staff regarding swallowing, feeding and dietary consistency of food.

Maintain required records, daily progress notes, ISP and PCP objectives, and annual reports/recommendations.

HOURS:

8 hours/week. 9-month position.

PROBATION:

280 calendar days
