Special Olympics Swimming Signup

Swim team practices will begin on December 08, 2022. Practices will be held on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3:00 to 4:00 at the Splash Zone in Oberlin.

There will be a Competitive Swim Team as well as a Swim Skills Squad. Members of both teams will participate in the Area Qualifying meet on January 15, 2023 in Canton OH. In addition, a limited number of participants on the Competitive Team will also compete at Bowling Green State University on March 3-5, 2022.

In order to practice or compete on either team, you must meet the following 3 criteria:

1. You must be able to swim at least 25 yards independently, with or without flotation assistance.
2. You must be able to provide your own transportation home after practice from Splash Zone in Oberlin at 4:00 on Tuesday/Thursdays.
3. Additional paperwork required for Athletes not enrolled in Murray Ridge Adult Services.
