PAYROLL AND ATTENDANCE SPECIALIST PT
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum:
High school diploma or GED. Proficient with Microsoft applications, including Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Word, and Microsoft Excel. Proficient with 10-key operations. Ability to complete complex computations.
Ability to read, comprehend, and apply agency policies, procedures, and contract provisions pertaining to payroll, timekeeping, attendance, leaves, absences, and time off accruals. Ability to accurately communicate meaning, both verbally and in writing, as it relates to both simple and complex concepts.
Ability to communicate effectively with all areas of the agency and across all levels of employees. Ability to demonstrate and maintain a positive and professional demeanor.
Ability to carry out detailed written and oral instructions with precision and to maintain confidentiality of information processed. Must be able to sort and file information efficiently.
Ability to sort, collate, compile, organize, track, file, prepare, store, and retrieve payroll and attendance data, information, and documentation in multiple forms of media.
Must have a valid Ohio driver’s license and an insured personal vehicle to use while on agency business. Must possess and maintain a good driving record. Must have a record of reliable work attendance and have demonstrated continuous satisfactory job performance.
Must be able to meet all requirements and obtain all certificates required to perform the job or any aspect of the job, and to access funding for performance of any aspect of the job.
Preferred:
Experience processing attendance and payroll (filing, maintaining, sorting, compiling, proofing, and calculating) and meeting related deadlines.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Read, understand, become familiar with, and apply agency policies, procedures, and contract provisions, pertaining to time-keeping, attendance, payroll, leaves, absences, and time off accruals.
Identify and apply the policies, procedures, and contract provisions that are relevant to various different classifications of employees.
Multi-format data entry.
Update relevant manual(s).
Produce, distribute, sort, collate, compile, organize, track, file, prepare, store, and retrieve payroll and attendance data, information, and documentation in multiple forms of media as requested or required.
Receive and assist in processing attendance, leave and various payroll/attendance forms & related documentation.
Maintain files on all payroll-related documentation.
Assist the Payroll Specialist with determinations and variance calculations, and with proofing and coding/keying time and attendance data, and proofing of same.
Perform Payroll processing as assigned.
Conduct searches to retrieve past payroll documentation, as needed.
HOURS:
Generally, 24 hours per week. Flexible as needed, including nights, weekends, and program closing days, as necessary, to meet the needs of the agency.
