HR/Payroll & Benefits Manager
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum:
Bachelor’s degree in business/accounting or related area.
Mathematical ability, including ability to complete complex pay-related computations, compute decimals and percentages, and set up and solve algebraic equations.
Strong critical thinking, organizational, and multi-tasking skills.
Minimum of five years related work experience.
Interpersonal skills, including ability to communicate clearly and in a positive manner with management, staff, co-workers and county personnel; good speaking, listening and writing skills.
Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Office.
Must have a valid Ohio driver’s license and an insured personal for use while on agency business. Must have and maintain a good driving record. Must have a history of satisfactory job performance. Must have a record of reliable work attendance.
Must be able to meet all requirements and obtain all certificates required to perform the job or any aspect of the job, and to access funding for performance of any aspect of the job.
Preferred:
Supervisory experience.
Advanced report generation and data management skills.
Experience with Sage 300 Payroll and/or ADP
RESPONSIBILITIES
Oversee the bi-weekly payroll process within the agency and assist with payroll processing, as needed.
Supervise
Provide direct and functional supervision to departmental staff.
Be accountable for continuous and current understanding of externally and internally imposed laws, rules, and requirements relevant to employee compensation, deductions, and benefits.
Ensure that clear procedures covering all aspects of payroll processing are created/maintained; in so doing, operationalize all related policies and requirements in a manner that will ensure ongoing compliance.
Communicate in a pleasant and professional manner with County personnel and agency staff.
HOURS:
Generally, Monday – Friday / Sunday – Thursday | 8:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m. Flexible, as needed.
SALARY:
Level 6 (Management Contract)
