Volunteer Services

Murray Ridge Center serves eligible individuals in a variety of settings throughout Lorain County. Volunteers may assist with special activities designed to enrich the lives of children and adults with mental retardation or other developmental disabilities.

Educational Services (Weekdays/September-May)

Murray Ridge School

Assist with special events

Chaperone field trips

Develop instructional aides

Summer Day Camp (Weekdays/June & July)

Assisting camp counselors

Choraleers

The Choraleers is a performance group comprised of adults who receive Murray Ridge Center services.  The group travels throughout Lorain County and Northeast Ohio performing vocal selections for organizations, service clubs, and religious services.  Volunteers can assist by:

Assisting with fundraising efforts

Providing transportation for Choraleers using Agency vehicles; or

Collaborating with Choraleer Director, Danielle Musat, on performance programs & rehearsals.

Murray Ridge Support Group (MRSG)

The Murray Ridge Support Group is comprised of staff, parents and community members interested in the well-being of adults with DD who receive services from Murray Ridge Center.  The group meets monthly in the evenings at the Elyria Workshop, 1095 Infirmary Road.

Assist with fundraising efforts

Chaperone MRSG-sponsored dances

Plan, implement, and/or assist with special events

Assist with monthly educational/informational sessions
